Container Loading Estimator
Estimate how many cartons fit in a 20GP, 40GP, 40HC, or custom container, then compare space and payload use for your shipment.
Estimated Loading Plan
Review the best uniform carton orientation, capacity limit, and shipment-level utilization.

Method: all six axis-aligned carton orientations are tested as a uniform rectangular grid. Estimated capacity is the lower of the best grid count and payload-based count.
Use the Estimate as a Loading Checkpoint
Confirm the actual container, cargo, packaging, and loading plan before you book or dispatch a shipment.
The carton, quantity, weight, and container values are calculated on this page and are not saved by TradeGoAI.
Internal dimensions and payload can vary. Replace the preset with the values supplied for the actual container.
Allow for pallets, bracing, door clearance, mixed orientations, weight distribution, handling space, and safety rules.

Frequently Asked Questions
Understand the orientation method, payload limit, container presets, and practical boundaries before using the estimate.
How does the container loading estimate work?
The calculator tests all six axis-aligned carton orientations and selects the uniform orientation that fits the most cartons within the entered internal container dimensions. It then applies the payload limit and uses the lower capacity.
Is the result an exact loading plan?
No. It is an early planning estimate for identical rectangular cartons loaded in one uniform orientation. Mixed orientations, pallets, bracing, loading gaps, door dimensions, weight distribution, and handling rules can change the actual capacity.
What do the 20GP, 40GP, and 40HC presets represent?
They are common reference examples for internal dimensions and maximum payload. Container specifications vary by manufacturer, age, owner, and carrier, so verify the exact container data before booking.
How does carton weight affect the estimate?
The calculator divides the container payload by the gross weight per carton. If the weight-based capacity is lower than the dimension-based grid capacity, payload becomes the estimated limiting factor.
Are my shipment details saved?
