Volumetric Weight Calculator
Estimate whether your shipment may be charged by actual weight or package size using your carrier’s volumetric divisor.
Weight Comparison
Compare the packed physical weight with the size-based estimate for the full shipment.
| Measure | Per Package | Shipment Total |
|---|
Formula: volumetric weight (kg) = length (cm) × width (cm) × height (cm) ÷ divisor. Estimated chargeable weight is the greater of total actual and total volumetric weight.
Use the Divisor From Your Shipping Provider
The same package can produce different chargeable weights when the carrier, service, route, or rounding method changes.
Package dimensions and weights are calculated on this page and are not saved by TradeGoAI.
The displayed 6000, 5000, and 4000 divisors are common examples, not universal carrier rules.
Carriers may round each package, apply minimums, or add oversized and service-specific charges.

Frequently Asked Questions
Understand the formula, divisor, chargeable-weight comparison, and limits of the estimate.
How is volumetric weight calculated?
Convert length, width, and height to centimeters, multiply them, then divide by the selected divisor. Multiply the per-package result by the package quantity.
What is chargeable weight?
For this estimate, chargeable weight is the greater of total actual weight and total volumetric weight. Carrier rounding and minimum-charge rules may produce a different final figure.
Which divisor should I use?
Use the divisor stated by your carrier, forwarder, service level, and route. The preset divisors are common examples only and can be replaced with a custom value.
Can I enter inches and pounds?
Yes. The calculator converts inches to centimeters and pounds to kilograms before applying the selected cubic-centimeter-per-kilogram divisor.
Does this calculator provide a freight quote?
No. It estimates weight comparison only. It does not include rates, fuel surcharges, minimum charges, oversized-item rules, taxes, duties, or other carrier fees.
