What the Builder Checks

Use the result to prepare a consistent package summary, then compare it with the commercial invoice and shipment requirements.

Package-level structure

Organizes marks, packaging type, package count, product description, quantity, weights, dimensions, and calculated CBM.

Weight and volume totals

Adds package groups and quantities, checks gross against net weight, and calculates geometric shipment volume.

Document boundary

Does not replace an invoice, bill of lading, customs declaration, dangerous-goods document, certificate, or destination-specific form.

Official Guidance to Check

Frequently Asked Questions

What information should an export packing list include?

A practical export packing list commonly identifies the exporter, consignee or buyer, related invoice, shipment reference, transport details, package marks and type, number of packages, goods in each package, quantity, dimensions, and net and gross weight. Confirm any destination, buyer, carrier, letter-of-credit, or product-specific requirements before sending.

Can a packing list replace a commercial invoice?

No. A packing list explains how the shipment is packed, while a commercial invoice records the commercial transaction and values. Authorities, buyers, carriers, and banks may compare the two documents, so shared references, descriptions, quantities, weights, and package details should be consistent.

How does the builder calculate shipment CBM?

For a row with dimensions in centimetres, it multiplies length by width by height, divides by 1,000,000, and multiplies by the package count. Total CBM is the sum of those row volumes. This is a geometric estimate and does not account for pallets, irregular shapes, stacking limits, or carrier measurement rules.

Why must gross weight be at least the net weight?

Net weight represents the goods without packaging. Gross weight includes the goods and their packaging, so a gross weight below the net weight normally indicates a data-entry or unit error that should be corrected before the document is used.

Are my packing-list details uploaded or saved?

No. The builder runs in your browser. It does not send the entered shipment data to TradeGoAI, store it in browser storage, or call an external service. Download or print the result before leaving the page if you want to keep it.

Complete the required fields before building the packing list. Use exactly ten columns for each package row, separated by vertical bars. Package count, quantity, net weight, and gross weight must be greater than zero. Enter all three dimensions as values greater than zero. Gross weight cannot be lower than net weight. Use a clear product description instead of a short or generic label. This package mark is repeated. Confirm that the repeated mark is intentional.
