How to Read the Coverage Plan
Use the ratios as transparent planning signals and review stage values, probabilities, close dates, and deal quality with your team.
Nominal Coverage
Open pipeline divided by the remaining target shows how much opportunity value is available before probabilities are applied.
Weighted Support
Every stage contributes its open value multiplied by its probability. The sum is compared with the remaining target.
Creation Requirement
The weighted gap is converted into new pipeline using your assumed win rate, average opportunity value, and days remaining.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is pipeline coverage?
Pipeline coverage compares open opportunity value with the revenue target that remains after closed-won revenue. A 3× unweighted coverage ratio means the open pipeline is three times the remaining target.
How is weighted pipeline value calculated?
Each stage value is multiplied by its probability, then the stage contributions are added. The result is a planning estimate, not a promise that the revenue will close.
What does additional pipeline needed mean?
The calculator divides the weighted revenue gap by your assumed win rate for newly created opportunities. It estimates the new unweighted opportunity value needed to cover that gap.
Should stage probability equal my overall win rate?
Not necessarily. Stage probabilities describe the current open pipeline, while the assumed new-opportunity win rate converts a remaining weighted gap into the new pipeline value to create.
Can this replace a CRM forecast?
Use it as a transparent planning worksheet. It does not model opportunity age, close-date slippage, deal dependencies, rep capacity, seasonality, or the forecasting rules in your CRM.
Are my pipeline values saved?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and the values are not saved by this tool. Reset restores the example pipeline.
